Are gum paste flowers edible? I have heard they are not
Yes they are edible. Gum paste ingredients are fully edible including the colors, they taste more like "flour" because of the reduced amount of sugar. Based on experience, people will not eat them anyway.
Do gum paste flowers require special storage conditions?
No. These flowersare humidity/ refrigerator / weather proof, unlimited shelf life and they are not as fragile as sugar flowers.
What if I received the flowers broken?
They are packed with lots of foam and boxed for minimal breakage. We have inserted an instruction sheet on how to mend a broken flower. However if the box is damaged due to transportation, we will endeavor to replace them but this is subject to availability.
How soon will I get these flowers delivered? Are they available all the time?
If the flowers are indicated in Product Information, they are available all the time subject to manufacturer production scheduling and in case of urgent situation, we are able to send these flowers by courier service (delivery lead time depends on customers location).
Is there any minimum order?
Minimum order is only one box (sale unit).
Can you color the flowers?
Yes you can, using liquid, chalk colour etc. We recommend the use of Sweet Inspirations luster/petal color range.
Can you mix luster dust with pettinice icing or royal icing?
No. They are not to be used as an additive. The most effective way is to mix with decorator rose essence (96% alcohol) and use an airbrush gun to color any icing work/flowers you have. An alternative is the use of paint brush.
Are luster/petal dusts edible?
They are non-toxic.
How do you use the luster colors?
The best way is to use clear alcohol such as decorator rose essence (96% alcohol) as they evaporate very quick. Other alternative is to use gin, vodka etc. Dilute the dust powders in this alcohol and use them as liquid colors. These dusts are so fine that they DO NOT clog your airbrush gun nozzle.
